things happened between zim and dib, zim ditched dib so dib could have a "normal life" dib was devastated at first and gave up on paranormal because it reminded him too much about zim, so the years went by  dib after so much time looks back after a science meeting and thinks about zim who's future is uncertain as no one knows what happened to zim but he realizes how zim was so different before last time he saw him and noticed zim "lost the light in his eyes" before he sight of zim

inspired by the song Poles Apart by Pink floyd and...a real event somewhat...
